Caybree Johnson Director
My name is Caybree Johnson and I am the Owner and Director of Education her at Practical Dental Assisting of Utah! I have been married since 2010 to a husband who makes me laugh on a daily basis and is very hardworking. We have 2 beautiful boys and 1 sweet girl that I can’t get enough of and they bring joy to my life every single day. I love my decorating, planning parties, and thoroughly enjoy any activity that I can do and be with my family. My other passion of course, is dentistry and this wonderful dental assisting school!
I actually graduated from this school in 2008 and worked for a general dentist for several years! I absolutely loved working for him because I got to assist and learn everything there was to know about Dentistry. I loved every minute of school and thought it was an amazing program that helped you every step of the way to receive and start a career.
When the opportunity came to become the Director of this amazing school, I was so overwhelmed with gratitude because it helped get me to where I am today and I wanted to do the same for other people. I could not ask for a better job then teaching and helping people achieve their dreams and goals. Here at Practical Dental Assisting you will not find any better instructor/staff that care more than we do! We have the passion and the knowledge to show you the way and help anyway we can. Amber Anderson Office Manager and Clinical Instructor
My name is Amber Anderson and I have been an instructor at PDA since 2015. I am the Office Manager for the school, and also get to teach the clinical portion of the Assisting class. I have been married since 2010 to my wonderful husband Colby. We have two amazing and wild boys and one sweet girl.
I am originally from Seattle Washington, but have lived in Utah for the past 10 years.
I Graduated from LDS Business College in Salt Lake before I decided to start my career in the dental field here at this wonderful school. I graduated from both programs; the dental assisting and front office administration 10 years ago. After I graduated I worked for a few General dentists as well as an oral surgeon before starting my career as an instructor at Practical Dental Assisting of Utah.With the knowledge I learned here at our school, I was able to be a Dental Assistant and eventually became the Office Manager of a dental practice. I have a great passion and love for the dental industry and am so grateful for the opportunity to teach and help others find their spot in this amazing industry. I am so grateful I got the cross training I needed and I love working in the Dental field. I look forward to getting to know and teach the amazing students we have!

McKenzy Potter Dental Assisting Instructor
My name is McKenzy Potter and I am the dental assisting night teacher. I have been teaching for 1 1/2 years and actually graduated from PDA 4 1/2 years ago! I love everything about the dental field and especially enjoy sharing and teaching others all about it.
I have been married to my husband Myles for 6 years and we have a wild 1 year old who keeps me busy during the day. When we have any spare time we’re typically working on house DIY’s or finding the next best place to eat.
While I was attending Practical Dental Assisting I started at my first dental office as an assistant. I eventually transitioned to the front office and learned all things admin while assisting on the side. After 4 years of working in an office I started working for dental offices around the country doing their billing so I can be home with my baby. I love how versatile the dental field is and can’t wait to help you start your journey in it!

Kelly Casper Dental Assisting Instructor
Hi I’m Kelly! I’m the assisting instructor at the South Jordan location. I am a mother of 5 and a grandmother of 11! Spending time with my family is my greatest treasure and it brings me the most joy.
I also love to be outdoors, travel, and create authentic pieces of jewelry from countries around the world. I am passionate about dentistry and have worked in the field on and off for the last 40 years. I have a lot of experience and knowledge and teaching and sharing it with our students is so rewarding.

Rachel Mausla Dental Assisting Instructor
Hi I’m Rachel Mausia! I graduated from Practical Dental Assisting in 2016. I was a Lead Dental Assistant in both Pediatrics and General Dentistry until 2021 and became a Dental Hygienist in 2022. My favorite procedures are implants and full mouth surgeries.
I have been teaching the Saturday class at PDA since 2020. I am married with three children and enjoy spending time outdoors, reading and collecting plants so my house will look like a jungle.

Alyssa Hill Orthodontic Instructor
My name is Alyssa Hill and I am the Orthodontics instructor here at PDA. I was a student at PDA in 2019 and have been in love with Orthodontics ever since!
I am originally from a small town just west of Philadelphia, PA, and have lived in Utah since 2014. Before I found my love for dental assisting, I studied Ballroom Dance at Utah Valley University. Dance is how I met my husband Tyler, and we have been married since 2017. My favorite activities include taking our dog Daisy on walks, dancing, doing nails, and being active.
Since graduating from PDA, I’ve had the privilege to work at an amazing Orthodontic office. When I saw the opportunity to go back to PDA and teach the Orthodontics course, I knew it was a perfect fit. I love teaching new students all about Orthodontics, and how amazing and rewarding it can be to work in the Orthodontic field!

Brooke Perkins Front Office Administration Instructor
My name is Brooke Perkins. I was born and raised in Provo, Utah. I married my husband, Cameron, in the spring of 2016. Our son, Caden, was born in the fall of 2018. We love to watch shows, play and watch sports, and go on adventures.
I graduated from BYU in 2016 in Exercise Science. I graduated from PDA in the summer of 2017 and immediately began working for a periodontist as a surgical dental assistant. I was cross trained to work up front and now enjoy working on both sides of the desk.
I began teaching the Front Office Administration course at PDA in the spring of 2019. I love being able to teach students applicable software in any office they work in. My students come in as strangers and leave as friends. I look forward to sharing my love of dentistry with you and helping you learn all things Dentrix!

Mary Bates Owner and Director Cedar City
My name is Mary Bates and I am the Director of Education here at Practical Dental Assisting of Utah in Cedar City! I have been married for 17 years to my amazing husband who is always so supportive. We have four wonderful children, three girls and one boy. I love being a mom and doing anything to spend time with my family! I enjoy boating, camping, and riding four wheelers in my free time. I have lived in Cedar City my whole life and love being so close to all the things I love to do.
I worked in a dental office when we were first married and loved my time in the dental field! I later chose to be a stay-at-home mom and now I am looking forward to getting back into the dental world and sharing my knowledge.
I am so excited for this new adventure of bringing a school to Cedar City! We have partnered with an experienced school that has been around for many years and has a great program in place. We also have some great teachers that are so excited to teach and are very experienced in the dental field, who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences!

Jamie York Front Office Administration Cedar City
My name is Jaime York, and I currently live in Cedar City, Utah. My husband, Joel, and I have been married for four months and have five wonderful children between us. I have two amazing children, Carlee is 22, and Zachary is 19. Both of my children are attending college in Utah and pursuing their careers. I am also lucky to have three bonus children! James is 13, Isabelle is 12, and Landon is 9. Our family loves to travel to the beach, play sports, ride ATVs, and explore new places around the world.
I worked as a dental assistant with a general dentist for several years. I loved being an assistant because I got to learn new things everyday. The evolving nature of dentistry fits my personality, and going to work each day and doing something different was something I enjoyed very much. Currently, I am a 4th grade elementary teacher. I am extremely excited to bring my passion for dentistry and my love for teaching together for this job. I am looking forward to sharing my knowledge of the dental field with each of my students.

Michelle Smith Dental Assisting Instructor Cedar City
My name is Michelle Smith. Having grown up in Southern Utah surrounded by extended family I developed a deep rooted love for my country and the beauty in Iron County, as a child I enjoyed spending time with aunts, uncles, cousins at the family cabin located on cedar mountain all year around. Now I enjoy spending time spoiling and supporting my nephews and niece in their various activities, I love calling Cedar City home.
I graduated from The American Institute of Medical and Dental Technology in 2000. Over the past 16 years I have spent 7 years in general dentistry including 5 years gaining experience in hospital dentistry, following that time I enjoyed working at a pediatric practice for 9 years gaining more experience in sedation, IV sedation, and hospital dentistry. I currently work for a surgical center where I’m still able to use my dental training.
I’m grateful for this opportunity to expand my training and share my knowledge and love of dentistry.
